Well, to begin with Microsoft’s XBOX SmartGlass is basically a mobile app that is designed to share videos from mobile devices to XBOX LIVE television and is also made to double as a second screen to output games and video for Microsoft XBOX. So, let us see how to watch HBO and play games via XBOX SmartGlass app.
What is XBOX SmartGlass app?
Microsoft claimed out loud at E3 that XBOX SmartGlass app will work on “all on your devices”. So, the XBOX SmartGlass app can be used with Windows Phone, Windows 8-based slates, and also on other mobile devices running on its competitors’ mobile platforms viz., iOS of Apple and Android of Google. This multi-platforms based app will work for browsing web, watching videos and playing games. And this is available for free download. On downloading, the app will enable your mobile device to “communicate with whatever glass surface you have.”
A Second Screen
XBOX SmartGlass app has a feature called ‘second screen’ to turn your mobile device into a second screen to view movies and videos. Imagine you are watching ‘The Avengers’ on your Android tablet and then, you simply wanted to see it on the big screen. So, just transfer the movie to the television using the XBOX SmartGlass app to play the movie on TVand vice versa. If you want to browse web, then XBOX SmartGlass will enable you to surf Internet using Internet Explorer browser on XBOX 360. Your Smartphone or tablet will provide you with a virtual keyboard to type and browse Internet in your living room.
